S.C. PET STAR HOLDING S.A.’ POLICY related to SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The organization’s policy on Social Responsibility is based on respect for the fundamental human rights in general and the rights of staff in particular.

 

The main purpose of the S.C. PET STAR HOLDING S.A. on Social Responsibility is the commitment to comply:

  • ensuring compliance with all requirements of the SA8000 standard;
  • ensuring compliance with national law, other applicable regulations and other requirements to which the organization subscribes;
  • compliance with the principles of the international reference instruments of the SA 8000 standard and their interpretation.

 

This policy focuses on the following objectives:

  • the organization does not practice or encourage the use of child labor and will take action to rehabilitate children and facilitate the education of children and young workers;
  • the organization does not practice or encourage the use of forced or compulsory labor;
  • the organization ensures a healthy and safe working environment and takes effective measures to prevent potential incidents and accidents at work or occupational diseases;
  • all staff have the right to form, to join and to organize trade unions as they wish and to bargain collectively with the organization;
  • the organization does not practice or encourage discrimination in employment, remuneration, access to training, promotion, termination of employment or retirement on grounds of race, nationality or territorial or social origin, caste, origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, family responsibilities, marital status, trade union membership, political opinions, age or any conditions that may lead to discrimination;
  • the organization treats all staff with dignity and respect;
  • the organization complies with applicable law, collective bargaining and industry standards regarding work schedule, breaks and public holidays;
  • the organization respects the rights of employees to a decent wage and ensures that wages always meet at least the legal requirements or collective bargaining agreements and are sufficient to cover the basic needs of staff while ensuring an additional minimum income.

 

For continuing improvement of best practices in S.C. PET STAR HOLDING S.A. management, at the highest level, is committed to developing and maintaining a Social Responsibility Management System in which:

  • regularly is reviewing its policy for continuous improvement, taking into account changes in legislation and any other requirements applicable to the organization;
  • is ensuring that the policy is effectively implemented, maintained, communicated and made accessible and available to all staff and external stakeholders.

 

The social performance team established in S.C. PET STAR HOLDING S.A. has the task of monitoring and ensuring the correct and effective implementation of the Social Responsibility Management System of the organization.

 

The S.C. PET STAR HOLDING S.A. aims to provide transparency and open communication in relations with stakeholders through:

  • publishing the company’s commitment to compliance with social responsibility requirements;
  • stakeholder awareness of the requirements of the SA8000 standard;
  • stakeholder involvement in achieving sustainable compliance with the SA8000 standard;
  • involvement and support of the company’s management in analyzing and reviewing the liability management system as a result of monitoring performance indicators.
